Good Afternoon!
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy Friday afternoon to come and peruse my very first Dog Blog. Or, if you’re working, perhaps you should be doing the tasks you’re getting paid for and not blaming me when your line mamanger issues you with a disciplinary?
Anyhoo, welcome to my Dog Blog- I’m Ruby, and I live in the Vizcom office in Bolton, Lancashire. Well, I say live, I’m not here 24/7 though it often feels like I am. Basically, The Master brings me to work with him and I spend the day being patient and trying to achieve zen whilst he cracks on with some work. Occasionally, The Master is joined by two other inhabitants- Diet Girl, who answers phones and seems to be permanently harping on about calories and fat counts and Happy Man, who is permanently, weirdly, high on life. I blame the male menopause.
However, I’m digressing….a couple of months ago, The Master shifted the furntiure around the office which allowed me to build together a small den in betwixt the filing cabinet and the photocopier. It’s warm, dry and you get used to the headaches generated by the toner, but the best part is that I can sit and cruise the internet without anybody viewing me.
Now you may be thinking, you’re a Red Setter! How can you do that?
My response would be that as a dog, given I may have a low IQ, I don’t have thumbs and I can’t even speak, but surely 90% of the celebrities out there today have that very same problem? Last I read, Kelly Brooke had millions stashed away from her TV presenting career and bit parts in a few films and we all know she’s not the sharpest tool in the box.
So, I have taught myself to read and type. It takes a while, obviously, with no thumbs, but I am a lot quicker than some of my human colleagues. And the reading was a breeze, especially with the erosion of the traditional English language in favour of text speak most used on the internet.
So now I spend most of my days perusing various websites on the internet. I do adore youtube, but have to admit that it’s been getting swamped recently with below-par videos. If I see the T-Mobile dance again, I’ll bark! And as for Chris Crocker and the Two Girls One Cup, don’t even get me started.
But every now and then, I find a video that sticks in my head for ages- not because it’s irritating, but because it’s quite clever and well thought out- so Ruby’s Recommendation today is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfCdNrRNS4g .
I’ll return on Monday perhaps with photos if I can smuggled in my memory stick (free with Pedigree Chum) but otherwise, have a good weekend.
